U.S. District Judge Eldon Fallon has ordered that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers must cease all work on the Industrial Canal Lock Replacement Project, including mitigation planning, until the Corps completes a thorough environmental impact assessment that complies with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).    

As a result of this ruling, the mitigation planning effort has been put on hold.
